Organic Glam
A flex room that finally belongs… polished, purposeful, and full of personality.
About
This home office and guest room sits right off the entry foyer, so it needed to hold its own. Warm beige linen walls set the tone, anchoring the existing desk unit and pulling the room into the same transitional glam world as the rest of the home. A khaki sleeper sofa added guest room function without sacrificing style. Mercury glass, crystal cabinet knobs, embroidered pillows, a chenille chair, and dark wood accents layered in the warmth and glamour that made the space feel complete.

This client has an existing desk unit that was on the yellow side of cream, which she wasn’t in love with, but didn’t want to paint. So to mitigate the yellow, we had the walls painted a pink undertone beige. The exact color is Sherwin-Williams Natural Linen.

This room needed to perform multiple functions: It’s an office, a seating room, and a backup Guest room. So we moved to the existing Desk unit to the opposite wall, so it’s not the first thing you see when you walk in her house. We added a sleeper sofa to the opposite wall to accommodate guests as well as a comfy place to sit. And tables were added that also can be used as nightstands. In a larger soft area rug was added to the center of the room to ground the space.

We removed the previous grey window shade, and replaced it with a textured woven wood shade, layered with some beautiful Natural linen curtains. This gave the space that organic feel and also helped to reinforce the new color scheme.

This Client loves a bit of glam…. Shiny surfaces that glisten in the light. We brought in mercury glass decor, accents for the shelf styling on the desk unit. We added beautiful lamps to the end tables. A Sleek, modern chair on casters was added to the desk area. We added pillows and a blanket and beautiful chocolate Brown and mauve colors. Lastly, we moved piece of art that she had in her dining room to above the sleeper sofa to bring it all together.

Formal dining room sits right outside of this office space. After we had finished the office, it was clearer that we needed to do some updates to make these two rooms work well together. A beautiful new centerpiece to the dining table with additional table accents, such as placemats chargers and napkins. We also had to replace the art that was originally hanging in the dining room. We found a beautiful custom piece off of Etsy, also ties in well with the other botanical art in her home.
